The Origins of Tsing Hua Medicine: "Benevolence to Heal, Virtue to Sustain"
A Century of Excellence, A Legacy of Self-Strengthening
For over a century, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) has been defined by its spirit of "Self-Discipline and Social Commitment." While we champion a mindset of economic and intellectual success, Tsing Hua has always stood for the values of giving back, dedication, and the creation of life’s true value through professional excellence.
A History of Educational Innovation and Equity
With the original intention of bridging the urban-rural gap and cultivating diverse talents, Tsing Hua has been a pioneer in educational reforms in Taiwan. We spearheaded initiatives such as the "Stars Program" (Starry Night Admission), "Double Major" tracks, and "Diverse Talent Selection." In the aftermath of Typhoon Morakot, NTHU took the lead in establishing the "Little Tsing Hua" program at Pingtung North Senior High School—a testament to our unwavering commitment to social responsibility.
Creating a New Paradigm for Medical Education
This consistent philosophy has built the core values of the NTHU Department of Post-Baccalaureate Medicine: to drive a quantum leap in Taiwan’s medical education and to cultivate interdisciplinary medical leaders. We provide a platform for those truly committed to the medical profession to explore endless possibilities and forge new paths. At Tsing Hua, we strive to establish a new paradigm for the world—one rooted in "Benevolence to Heal and Serve the World" and "Profound Virtue to Sustain Life."
